Leonardo’s Last Supper is an absolute masterpiece – one that should be viewed from a different perspective, taking into account the historical and religious context in which it was created.
The Last Supper and Leonardo
The tour begins with a brief introduction to the personality of Leonardo and to the historical period in which the artwork was produced. We will then examine some of the preparatory sketches for the painting and compare them with other works that depict the same iconographic theme. This will allow us to fully understand the profound theological meaning and the innovative artistic and compositional choices of the piece.
To conclude, the visit includes an overview of the Dominican religious complex of Santa Maria delle Grazie, providing a complete and well-rounded experience.

Since visitors can admire the masterpiecefor only 15 minutes, the tour begins with an in-depth introduction to the period and the artist, allowing for a better understanding of the work. The explanation is given either inside the church or outdoors, depending on the time of day, so appropriate attire is required, both for the sacred setting and for the season.

- For organizational reasons, ADVANCE BOOKING WITH PREPAYMENT is required by the DEADLINE INDICATED FOR EACH TOUR. If there are still TICKETS AVAILABLE, it will be possible to sign up after that date as well (the final booking date, or “until sold out”, will be updated on the website).
- With the new ONLINE PAYMENT SYSTEM, to REGISTER you must PURCHASE THE GUIDED TOUR, selecting the appropriate PRICE CATEGORY. If requested by the indicated deadline, DISCOUNTED TICKETS FOR THE LAST SUPPER are available for under-18s, young adults aged 18–25, teachers, and visitors with disabilities plus a companion (not available for over-65s).
- Immediately after payment you will receive an automatic EMAIL confirming that YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN RECEIVED and is BEING PROCESSED. In the following hours or days, you will receive a second email (checked by our staff) stating that YOUR ORDER HAS BEEN COMPLETED – this is your BOOKING CONFIRMATION(please check your spam folder).
- You will then be contacted BY EMAIL again 2 DAYS BEFORE THE TOUR with PRACTICAL INFORMATIONabout the visit and the TICKETS IN PDF FORMAT attached (please also check your spam folder).
- The tour ALWAYS TAKES PLACE, based on the Last Supper tickets we have available, which are NOMINATIVE(the name can be changed up to 48 hours before the visit).
- Any CANCELLATIONS must be received NO LATER THAN 3 DAYS BEFORE the tour (and in any case before receiving the final tour confirmation email); otherwise, the full guide fee and the prepaid ticket will be retained. It is in your interest to FIND A REPLACEMENT who can use your Last Supper ticket.

Catia offers a guided visit of Leonardo’s masterpiece, the Last Supper, including an introduction to the Dominican complex of Santa Maria delle Grazie.
BOOKING WITH MANDATORY PAYMENT: by 12 JULY– LAST 3 TICKETS
NOTES: The fee of € 45 includes the full-price ticket for the Last Supper, the guided visit and the mandatory audio system. The Museum requires the full name of each participant, which can be changed up to 48 hours before the visit.
DURATION: 1 hour
MEETING POINT: 10 minutes before the scheduled time – the exact meeting point will be sent by email to registered participants.
